Social structure of Kalmyk society in the XIX century: transformation of the legal status
The state policy of the Russian Empire in XIX century on the territory of the Kalmyk steppe that resulted to a change in the social status of the traditional groups of the estates. The important duty of a Zaisang was to collect taxes in favor of noyons.
